Sitting in the lamp’s
glow.
The needle cuts
the surface of the hide.
Thread of sinew
binds the pieces together.
Fingers shape,
Eyes measure.
The cloth glows red,
forms a pattern.
Rows of gathered folds
soften the silhouette.
The silver button gleams,
protects against
evil.
Sitting in the lamp’s
glow,
creating with
hands and thoughts.
